New Title: Campaigner

It's FINALLY time!!

Oh, nelly. I really did it this time. I went and signed up for Rachel Harrie's Third Writers' Platform-Building Campaign (formerly called the Crusaders).

source
I've known about this platform-building concept since the Second Crusade/Campaign, but I was A) too late to the party and B) too unsure of what it all entailed.

Actually, I'm not sure I still understand what I just signed myself up for. From what I'm reading on Rachel's blog and around the blogoshpere, the Campaign is a place for fellow writers to meet each other, share some blog love, and work together to help build the online platform and presence of fellow writers.

I'm nervous because I'm not sure how "advanced" one has to be in order to be successful. I'm still new to blogging and I'll be the first one to tell you that I fell by the blogging wayside this summer. So I'm not sure how to do this, but I'm hoping to just jump in feet first and meet other writer bloggers.

So, fellow writers. Who's with me? Anyone care to join the Campaign, meet other bloggers, and show support to your fellow authors? Then please follow the link and sign up! We can campaign together!

  1. I'm tempted, but I'm not sure there's a point. It seems like I know soooo many bloggers doing this. Will there be anyone I don't already know? LOL

  2. Hello! I've joined up too. I'm still quite new to the whole blogging thing, and it'll be nice to find some more blogs to follow :)

  3. I'm in! It's going to be fun. Don't worry about how long you've been blogging. I jumped right into the A to Z Challenge in April when I'd only been blogging for about a month and it was a great experience.

  4. @Margo, I wondered the same thing when I scrolled through the list of those who have signed up and realized I recognized many faces. But then I realized I probably don't know those people "well" and could use the accountability with my own blogging.

@Miss Cole--glad to hear you signed up! I consider myself relatively new as well and I'm also looking forward to following new blogs.

@Sarah--yeah, that's when I started, the A to Z Challenge. I'm not sure what I hope to get out of this, but it sounds exciting!

  6. You'll be brilliant. You don't give yourself enough credit. I know how dedicated you become when you set your mind to something (hello, tri).

I'm excited to read more about what you will be doing!

  7. This looks like fun! I've been tinkering with the idea of setting up a blog focusing just on my writing. Might be a good place to start?

  8. @Sarah, that almost scares me more--knowing all these new people will come by to see my lil blog! Eek!

@Linds, hmm... we'll see. The only person I could disappoint w/my tri was myself. With this, I might let a bunch of people down. Probably not, but still, I'm feeling suddenly shy.

@Ade, sign up! Get a writer blog going and sign up! We can be newbies together! :)

  12. I'm a campaigner!

The campaign is totally what you put into it. So far I've been trying to hit a few of the blogs a day, and I can already tell the ones I gravitate to the most. I suspect I will develop strong relationships with a handful right away and aquaintences with the rest. There are already a few people I didn't know and am so glad to have found.

It is also making me put more effort into my own blogging, knowing so many new people are appearing to see what I've got to offer.

  14. Hiya from a fellow campaigner--and thanks for stopping by my blog, too! BTW, when I clicked through to your profile, your blog wasn't listed on your profile page :(. But I tracked you down through the MG/YA list :). Great to meet you!

  16. @Cheryl--thank you for letting me know! I just went and changed my profile so that pops up. And now I'll try not to think about how many people skipped me because I didn't have the link. Oops... Only way to learn, right?!

    Hello and welcome, new campaigners!
